Why I am a Hindu 
I am an atheist, but if I had to choose my religion, I would have chosen Hinduism. That is because while in other religions there is only one God, in Hinduism there are 330 million gods. So you can choose the god who suits your temperament as your.'Ishta Devta'
If you are fond of drugs and alcohol, you can choose Lord Shiva ( he is said to be fond of bhaang, dhatura, etc ). If you are fond of many women, you can choose Lord Krishna ( the gopis of Vrindaban were very fond of him and he allegedly married 16000 women at a time ), but if you are devoted to one single woman, which you should be ( 'ek hi naari sada brahmachari', as I used to say in court while deciding bigamy cases ) you should choose Lord Rama.
You can select a god with the head of an elephant ( Ganesh ), or of a monkey ( Hanuman ) or even a pig ( Varaha devata ).. You can select a god with 4 heads ( Brahma ), though sadly the chap has few worshippers, and there is reportedly only one temple in his honour ( at Pushkar, near Ajmer ) in India. You can worship Kali or Murugan or whatever you like.
Or you can be an atheist like me, denounce all sacred books as containing nonsense and all religions to be superstitions and false, and yet remain a Hindu .

RATIONALIST INQUISITIVENESS !
Rationalism promotes inquisitiveness and scientific temper.Thus it is opposed to any kind of dogmatic and metaphysical assumptions,religious prejudice and conservatism. Mere negation of hypothesis about supposed 'god' and its associated religiosity is not rationalism.One has to be rational ,in practice and perception in all aspects of our day to day life.I have come across rationalist friends,who quite inexplicably support regressive and reactionary socio-political concepts. .Rationalism is in,tune with scientific temper and accept in any intellectual pursuit,spirit of inquiry,commitment to truth and a well calculated method to give progressive knowledge of facts.Rationalism accepts a naturalistic order and aims at human well being and happiness in this world.The idea of an other worldly supra mundane disembodied existence is a myth. The idea of heaven,hell,day of judgment,liberation,disembodied existence etc are religious beliefs and not proven facts.

Law for whom?

Our law enforcing agencies are either toothless or not dutifully capable. Law prescribes that no Chinese kite strings are to be used, but youngsters use these with impunity, resulting in serious injuries, even death. No stubble is to be burnt, but people resort to it, unmindful of its ill-effects. Triple riding on two-wheelers is a no-no, but youngsters do it all the time, even as they ride without helmet. Load carriers are not supposed to carry passengers, but we find many of these carrying passengers for some events, dera gatherings, or religious pilgrimage. Gun culture is evident at marriage palaces and gang wars are openly taking place. The police is helpless because the culprits are well connected. Buses, specially those run by politicians, speed with scant regard to road sense or traffic rules. Many lives have thus been lost. The government, I feel, is the real culprit. Are we living in an uncivilised society, or the government and law enforcing agencies are mute spectators?

OBSCURANTIST INTOLERANT PAROCHIAL!
History and today's day to day experience has established that religion is ineffective and weak in spreading the message of peace and love.As a matter of fact religion has caused more misery to all of mankind in every stage of human history than any other single idea.Whether it is Christianity or Islam or Hinduism,every religion has inculcated an intolerant spirit among its followers which has resulted in bloody clashes,murder and torture of all those who do not submit to that particular faith.Theism teaches man to love "god" so much so that they begin to hate,abhor, and outlaw those,who honestly and sincerely cannot accept the 'incredible' doctrine.It is all due to the fact that all religions are wedded to fanatical intolerance.Today all religions are classical example of sectarian trends and loyalties.It is not one or two instances in the history of religion that 'prove'this or that religion is not secular.The history of every religion is the history of intolerance.So called 'modern and progressive'religious scholars may quote verses here and there from their respective 'holy' scriptures in order to prove 'secular spirit'of their religion. Such passages are very rare and out of context as for as today's subjective and objective conditions are concerned.On the contrary the known verses and the action of the followers,in accordance to the basic spirit of those verses, are the only 'inspiration' for credulous and gullible followers.All religions are same:the Muslims fight with the cry Allah ho Akbar,the Christians in the name of Christ and Hindus with the slogan,Har Har Mahadev.In this context it is interesting to note that when rationalistic doctrines,backed by scientific truth and supremacy of reason and logic,criticize the theism[religions] for their intolerance,irrationality,adamant and uncompromising attitude,religious protectors raise their heads with their 'new' findings and interpretations in order to reestablish so called tolerant and secular spirit of their respective religious dogma.
Illa Wheeler Wilcox,has put the same thought in plainer words:
"so many gods,so many creeds,so many paths that wind and wind;
when just the art of being kind is all that the sad world needs."

The BJP itself continues to take cash donations and shift goalposts. When the demonetisation was announced, they said it was meant to attack black money and counterfeit currency. Once it became apparent that those reasons were nonsense, the government tried to change the narrative into one about a cashless society. Within a fortnight of that, they are already backtracking and saying they meant ‘less cash’ when they said ‘cashless’. The truth is this: demonetisation is a humanitarian disaster that is crippling our economy, and no matter how many times Modi and Co try to rationalise it, it cannot be done. One day, these men will stop trying. When they cannot justify any more, they will distract.

WHETHER CASH LESS SOCIETY ?
Well orchestrated canard is being patronized by ruling polity that cashless society is the ultimate financial panacea for the establishment of Ram Rajya oriented welfare state.Order of the day is :that there is something drastically wrong with using cash and that we should head towards being a cshless society.A cashless society will be disaster for Indian economy .Here is why :-
1.Once cashless society is established it will lead to significant erosion of your privacy.There would be digital trail of each of your purchases and transfers whether you purchase aids medication or a porn magzine.It will be very pertinent to point out here that India has no privacy laws and data protection is also big worry.
2.Establishment of cashless society will lead to erosion of the right to dissent.The state can use any data it gathers against you.They could make any opponent a pauper with one key stroke freezing your bank account while they investigate alleged misdeeds.
3.A fully cashless society endangers freedom.Cash is empowerment :ask the young wife who saves spare cash from her alcoholic husband :or the old mother who stuffs spare notes under the mattress for years because it gives her a sense of autonomy.Indeed,in a misogynist country like India,cashlessness would hit women the hardest.

DENIGRATION OF WOMEN BY CHANAKYA IN CHANAKYANITI DARPANA;
Chanakyaniti has an important place among the volumes describing ethics and morality in ancient Sanskrit literature.Known as Rajniti Samuchya also,there are 334 hymns divided in 17 chapters.Some of the hymns have been repeated from Manusmrti, Mahabharata and Purana.
It is significant to observe that denigration and character assassination of women has been 'glaring' aspect of ancient Hindu scriptures right from earliest Vedas to somewhat latest Ramcharitmanas [Tulsi Ramayan]. Was Chanakya too classified misogynist and male chauvinistic like other contemporaries around his time ?It is beyond any logic and comprehension that what on earth led Chanakya to believe that women en mass are not to be trusted due to inherent tendencies of "falsehood and low moral character",though he is often hailed as great visionary.There are ample references in said scripture,which reflect and symbolize his prejudice and hatred against women.
*nakhinan ch...stresho rajkulesho ch [Chanakyaniti Darpana,1/15]. Exposition :-The beings which have nails,rivers,the beings which have horns and the persons which hold arms should not be relied on. Similarly women and the royal clan should also not to be relied on.
*strinam dvigunam aharo...kamashch ashtguna smrata [ibid 1/17]. Exposition :-The diet of women than man is two times more,the savvy four times,the courage six times and the desire for sex,eight times more than man.
*anrtam sahasam...dosha swobhavjha [ibid 2/1] :-Fallacy in expression and fortitude,manipulation,foolishness,aggravated greed,untidy and cruelty are the usual defects in the personality of women.[It will be pertinent to point out here that Manu in Manusmrti and Tulsidas in Ramcharitmanas have also described six and eight demerits respectively found in women. Adi Shankracharya has in questionnaire said-"what is the main and sole door to hell?"Its answer is-"the women".]
*ikhudandstila..kanta...mardanam gunvardnam [ibid 9/13]. Exposition :-sugarcane, sesame,stupid,women,gold,land,sandal,curd and betel should be thrashed severely because in proportion to thrashing,their qualities get enhancement. [Tulsidas too has repeated said infamous concept-"dhol,ganwar,sudra,pasu,nari,sakal tadna kay adhikari.[sunderkand RCM].
*vinyam...stribhya shekhet kaitvam [ibid 12/18]. Exposition :-One should learn the art of talking humbly and aptly from the princes,intellectual communication from scholars,fallacy from gamblers and manipulation and intrigue from women.
*atyasna....striya [ibid 14/11]. Exposition :-The king,fire,the teacher and the women should be dealt with the middle way as their existence is useless while at a distance and their proximity becomes cause of death.
*agnir apa striyo...pranharani shat {ibid 14/12]. Exposition :-The fire,the water,women,stupid,snake and the royal family should be dealt most cautiously because they may become cause of death even when slight omission is committed.
*jalpante...na strinam aikto rati [ibid 17/2]. Exposition :-The women flirt with someone in conversation,watch at other while posture and gesture in body,keep someone deep in heart and think about someone else in their mind.
ashakhasto...vradha nari pativrata [ibid 17/6]. Exposition :-The weak men becomes saint,the pauper a celibate,patient a devotee to god and women becomes chaste in her old age.
*patyur...nare narkam vrajet [ibid 17/9]. Exposition :-the women who observes fast without getting permission of her husband,causes reduction of the age of her husband and is placed in hell after her death.
*na danaih...pad odakair yatha [ibid 17/10]. Exposition :-The water percolated from the feet of husband[when the wife washes them and use the same for bathing and other purpose] is the best purifier and service to the husband. At the same time said ordained act is greater than donation,observing hundred fasts and visiting pilgrimages.

*क्या 18-19वीं शताब्दी के मध्य तक सभी वेदज्ञ विद्वान मूर्ख थे जो उन्हें वेदों के मंत्रों के ठीक अर्थ न सूझ सके और वह उन में से विज्ञान न निकाल सके?

1.पृथ्वी गतिहीन और खड़ी है।
2.घूमता सूर्य सात घोड़ों के रथ पर सवार होकर पृथ्वी के चारों ओर परिभ्रमण करता है।
3.चंद्रलोक पृथ्वी के चारों ओर घूमता है।
4.सूर्य ग्रहण के समय सूर्य को स्वभार्नु नामक आसुर आ दबोचना है और अत्रि व अत्रिपुत्र उसे उस आसुर से मुक्त करते हैं।

INDIAN MEDIA AND 'GOD MEN' !
Apparently both print and electronic media is maintaining a love and a hate relationship with 'god men'.Media ,especially T.V.channels provide prime time to spread ignorance through self proclaimed 'god men' and 'god women', who have the money to buy the prime time or get sponsored for it.Just switch on the TV set in India in the morning and the only thing you would find is 'god men',astrologers,spiritualists providing so called expertise on the world problems and individual concerns.All of them,having established that larger than life status,are omniscient and omnipotent with divya drishti [super natural perception] and offer solutions to their gullible and credulous followers for all possible problems.They provide code of conduct also on daily basis.
This relationship between media and 'god men' is detrimental to the overall progress of the country,supremacy of reason and for strengthening scientific temper.Today media is a powerful tool to build knowledge,spirit of inquiry and help young minds cultivate a habit of critical thinking which subjects metaphysical assumptions of inherited traditions to a scientific challenge .On the contrary,media is promoting superstitions,ignorance and obscurantism.Instead of implementing 'magical remedies and objectionable advertisement act' and other relevant legal remedies,today Indian state directly or indirectly has become instrument for spreading ignorance and blind faith.It is state which has authorized various 'god men' and their religious empires to start their own channels and media houses for spreading religious canard and trash.As the world is progressing,media has greater outreach and if misused,it will be detrimental to the meaningful and purposeful development of the Indian state in general and of the Indian society in particular.

सूचना प्रसारण मंत्रालय ने जिस तरह से हिंदी न्यूज चैनल NDTV इंडिया पर कार्रवाई करते हुए उसके प्रसारण पर एक दिन की रोक लगाई है, उससे पूरा देश सहम गया है। हर ओर रोष की लहर है। यह कार्रवाई पठानकोट हमले के दौरान उसकी कवरेज को लेकर हुई है क्योंकि मंत्रालय की एक समिति ने उसे राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा के लिए खतरा माना है। पता नहीं सलाह देनेवालों के जेहन में क्या यह एक बार भी विचार नहीं आया कि इसके बाद जो लाख प्रश्न उठेंगे, उसका जवाब कौन देगा? पहला प्रश्न तो यही है कि चलो, माना यह चैनल की गलती थी, लेकिन घटनास्थल तक पत्रकारों-कैमरों को जाने की इजाजत किसने दी? अगर यह चित्रण इतना संवेदनशील था तो उसे इतने घंटों, पहर और दिनों तक रोका क्यों नहीं गया?

यह गफलत करनेवाले दोषी सैन्य अधिकारियों और पुलिस के खिलाफ इस मामले में क्या कार्रवाई हुई? क्या उन्हें भी कोई दंड दिया जाएगा! अगर वह चित्रण गलत था तो अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर बदनाम और प्रतिबंधित आतंकवादियों को सक्रिय मदद करनेवाले ISI के अधिकारियों को पठानकोट में क्यों आने दिया गया था? SP सलविंदर सिंह की इस पूरे मामले में भूमिका, संदेहास्पद कदम और सत्तारूढ़ अकाली मंत्रियों को बचाने के लिए हुई गोल-मोल ‘जांच’ का कौन जवाब देगा? क्या इनमें से किसी के खिलाफ कोई कार्रवाई हुई? क्या इतनी ही तेजी से सबमरीन डाटा लीक पर कार्रवाई नहीं की जानी चाहिए थी?

सारे चैनलों ने यह मान लिया है कि आज अगर यह NDTV के साथ हुआ है तो कल यही उनके साथ भी हो सकता है! जबकि NDTV ने कारण बताओ नोटिस के जवाब में साफ कर दिया था कि उसने केवल वही जानकारियां सामने रखीं हैं जो पहले से प्रिंट, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक और सोशल मीडिया पर मौजूद हैं।

भारतीय सेना की प्रशंसा और अनादर साथ साथ क्योंकर ?
आजकल भारती सेना विचित्र दौर से गुज़र रही है.आज़ादी के बाद पहली बार सेना को राजनीतिक मोहरा बनाकर राजनीतिक स्वार्थों  की पूर्ति की जा रही है.डिफेन्स मिनिस्टर मनोहर पारिकर ने देश वासियों का यह कहकर ज्ञान बढाया है कि सेना ने जिस वीरता और शौर्य का प्रदर्शन किया है वह केवल मंत्रीजी की राष्ट्रिय स्वयं सेवक संघ से प्रेरित सोच के कारण संभव होसका है तथा सेना के योद्धा हनुमान की तरह थे जिन्हें सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक से पहले अपनी  शक्ति का अहसास न था.चलिए कुतर्क को तर्क मान कर चलने में ही देश द्रोही के आरोप से अपने को बचाते हैं.
सेना की संघ प्रेरित नवीनतम परिभाषा के वातावरण और शौर में यह दुखद समाचार मिलता है कि एक रैंक एक पेंशन के मसले पर एक और सैनिक ने ज़हर खाकर खुदकशी कर ली .सैनिकों की विकलांग पेंशन रेट को घटा दिया गया है तथा सिविल ऑफिसर्स की तुलना में उनका स्टेटस घटा दिया गया है.यहाँ यह कहना प्रासंगिक ही होगा कि 6th पे कमीशन तथा 7th पे कमीशन की क्रमशा कथित ३६ तथा ४६ विसंगतियों पर पहले ही सैनिकों में अवहेलना और तिरस्कारपूर्ण भेदभाव की भावना व्याप्त है.
प्रधानमंत्री का सुझाव कि रेलवे स्टेशन तथा एअरपोर्ट पर सैनिकों को पूरा मानसम्मान मिलना चाहिये जैसा कि विदेशों में परम्परा है -स्वागत योग्य है परन्तु  ज़मीनी सचाई में  मूलभूत सकारात्मक परिवर्तन के बिना तथा  सैनिकों का किसी भी प्रकार के राजनीतिकरण के बिना यह कैसे मुमकिन हो सकता है -इस प्रशन का उत्तर कौन दे सकता है ?

जिज्ञासा के समाधान की तलाश जारी रही .मित्रों ,आखिर मेरी तलाश का सकारात्मक परिणाम निकला.हुआ यूं कि एक दिन मेरे हाथ किसी ब्राह्मण देवता की लिखी दिव्य पुस्तक "अनुष्टान प्रकाश "हाथ लगी .हम ने झट से प्रमेह रोग का अध्याय खोला और उसका अवलोकन किया .जीवन में पहली बार हमारे ज्ञान चक्षु असीम स्तर पर प्रफुलित हुए और चारों दिशाओं से मुझ पर ज्ञानरूपी वर्षा बरसी .मैं आत्मग्लानी के कारण मन ही मन शर्मिंदा होगया .एक चिकित्सक के नाते विद्यार्थी जीवन से लेकर आज तक प्रमेह  रोग के कारणों और चिकित्सा का जोभी ज्ञान मैने मन मस्तिषक में संभालकर रखाथा वह कितना खोखला और बेकार निकला ?विश्व स्वास्थ संगठन [WHO] और पूरा विश्व किसप्रकार अज्ञान का प्रचार प्रसार कर रहा है ?जबतक रोग के मूल कारण का ज्ञान न होगा तो कोई भी चिकित्सक क्या खाक चिकित्सा करेगा ?अब समझ में आया कि यह रोग विश्वस्तर पर महामारी का रूप कैसे धारण कर गया ?पावन देश भारत यूंही विश्व गुरु नहीं रहा है .ज्ञान गंगा तो केवल और केवल इस देश में बहती आयी है .

सम्प्रदायिक विश्व हिन्दू  परिषद् के भगत सिंह प्रेम का औचित्य क्या है  ?
उत्तर भारत में विश्व हिंदू परिषद हिंदू हितचिंतक अभियान चलाती रही है, जो अपने प्रचार में जिन पोस्टरों-चित्रों का इस्तेमाल करती है, उनमें भगत सिंह, चंद्रशेखर आजाद, रामप्रसाद बिस्मिल और नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस को उग्र हिंदुत्व के नायक रहे, विनायक दामोदर सावरकर के साथ दिखाती है। जाहिर है कि सावरकर के संग अन्य क्रांतिकारियों को रखे जाने का उद्देश्य यही है कि उन क्रांतिकारियों की विचार चेतना पर पर्दा डाल दिया जाए। इतिहास का कौन जानकार यह कह सकता है कि सावरकर को छोड़कर किस क्रांतिकारी ने हिंदू राष्ट्र की कल्पना के संबंध में अपने विचार प्रकट किए। क्या यह शहीद भगत सिंह और उनके साथियों की क्रांतिकारी प्रगतिशील विचारधारा से छेड़छाड़ नहीं है। भगत सिंह जैसे मार्क्सवादी चेतना से संपन्न क्रांतिदृष्टा को विहिप के पोस्टर/वैनर पर रखे जाने के पीछे आखिर कौन-सा तर्क है? कौन नहीं जानता कि भगत सिंह 'मैं नास्तिक क्यों हूं’, जैसे पर्चे को लिखने वाले खालिस धर्मनिरपेक्ष थे और नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस ने तो 'स्वतंत्रता संग्राम और वामपंथ’ तथा 'फारवर्ड ब्लॉक ही क्यों’ जैसे आलेखों के जरिये अपने पक्ष और मंतव्यों को स्पष्ट करने की सार्थक कोशिशें कीं।

क्या नास्तिक  मुर्ख हैं ???
नास्तिक बनना सरल नहीं है.नास्तिक को धर्म के मार्ग पर चलने वाले जनसाधारण और बुद्धिमान -दोनों का विरोध सहना पड़ता है.तथाकथित ईश्वरीय सत्ता को चुनोती देना,कपोलकल्पित स्वर्ग के सुखों को ठुकराना साधारण बुद्धिमान का काम नहीं है.मूर्ख तो बिना सोचे समझे धर्म के मार्ग पर चल पड़ता है चाहे इन में निरा धोखा ही हो.
नास्तिक को मुर्ख कहने से पहले सोचना चाहे कि आँख बंद करके जनसाधरण के मार्ग पर चलने वाला बुद्धिमान होता है या चलती राह की अच्छाई बुराई सोचकर  नया मार्ग बनाने वाला व्यक्ति ?चलती राह चलने के लिए -मेरे विचार में बुद्धि या तर्क की बिल्कुल आवश्यकता नहीं होती है.बैल ,घोडे,कुत्ते आदि भी बिना किसी निर्देश के दूसरों के पीछे चलने में सफल हो जाते हैं-जबकि नयी राह का निश्चय साधरण आदमी भी नहीं कर पाते ,इस में बुद्धि की अपेक्षा होती है.

आस्तिकता में इतनी सुविधाएँ हैं कि विवेक तथा बुद्धिरहित लोग इधर उधर ही दौडते हैं .बुद्धि को कष्ट देने की आवश्यकता नहीं.किसी प्रकार का विरोध भी नहीं सहना पड़ता और सर झुकाते ही मानो स्वर्ग का रास्ता खुल जाता है.दूसरी ओर नास्तिक के हालात पर विचार कीजिए.उसे स्वर्ग ठुकरा कर नरक में जाने का काल्पनिक भय सहना पड़ता है तथा समाज के राह भूले लोगों का विरोध और तिरस्कार सहना पड़ता है.भीड़ का हिस्सा बनना आसान है और भीड़भाड़ से परे हट कर चलना कठिन और असाधारण है.चलती परंपरागत रीति रिवाजों पर प्रश्नचिन्ह लगाना ,आलोचना करना तथा नया मार्ग तलाश करने में जो दिमागी कसरत करनी पड़ती है -वह क्या मुर्ख के बस की बात है ?साधरण आदमी तो इसका अनुमान भी नहीं लगासकता.बुद्धि की कसौटी पर खरे गिनेचुने में मूर्ख को स्थान नहीं मिल सकता.मूर्ख होना आस्तिकों की ही सेना में संभव है.क्या जनसाधरण को जीवन का कल्पना रहित वास्तविक मार्गदर्शन करनेवाले मूर्ख हो सकते हैं .कदापि नहीं .

STRING OF DIVINE ABSURDITIES !
The orthodox ,not only among the Hindus but among all other religious communities,should realize that social customs,laws and rituals prescribed in their respective scriptures cannot be followed today in their entirety.Today,it serves no purpose to swear by their 'eternalness'. They were not eternal for they have,even while religious bigots keep on harping on them,disappeared slowly but certainly.The 'varnashram dharma' as propounded in the Puranas is virtually impossible to follow;the taboos and restrictions prescribed are humanly impossible to observe and follow.
The Shankracharya,has talked much about the rules of personal hygiene.I herewith give below a rules prescribed in the Puranas and would like to know,how many of followers observe them or can do so.To give an example,the Purnas prescribe a thorough washing and cleaning of the hands,feet and private parts of the body after defecating.The prescribed number of washes are :-
*PADAMPURAN: [Srishtikhand] and VISHNUPURAN : [Tritya ansha]= 21 times.
*BRAHMAVAIVRTA PURAN : [Brahmkhand]=27 times ; for widows=54 times;for Vaishnavas,Brahmrishis and Brahmcharis=108 times.
*NARAD PURAN :[Purvabhag-prathampada]=29 times;for Brahmcharis=58 times;for Vanprasthis= 87 times;for Sanyasis=116 times.
*DEVIBHAGWAT PURAN :[II-1/2] 26 times;[for brahmcharis,Vanprasthis and Sanyasis-twice,thrice and four times this number].
*Since caste prejudice and discrimination has been integral aspect of almost all scriptures, color of clay has been prescribed as under:-white for Brahmans;Red for Kshatriyas;Yellow for Vaishyas and Black for Shudras.
In case gullible and credulous devoted followers follow said prescribed rules for their personal hygiene,among all probabilities,they would be between confused state and madness while remembering the number of washes.

नई दिल्ली। देश में बढ़ते सड़क हादसों को रोकने का जिम्मा गायों को दिया जाएगा। इसके लिए बड़े पैमाने पर गायों की नियुक्ति कर उन्हें व्यस्त हाईवेज और सड़कों पर तैनात किया जाएगा।

केंद्रीय सड़क परिवहन मंत्रालय के एक सूत्र ने बताया कि अभी देश के सभी शहरों में सड़कों पर गायें जिस तरह से स्पीड ब्रेकर्स के रूप में अपनी सेवाएं दे रही हैं, उसी से मंत्रालय को ये आइडिया आया है। इन शहरो में गायें न केवल वाहनों की स्पीड को कंट्रोल करने का कार्य कर रही हैं, बल्कि लोगों द्वारा फेंकी गई पोलिथिन को खाकर मोदीजी के ‘स्वच्छ भारत अभियान’ को सफल बनाने में भी योगदान दे रही हैं।

सूत्र ने कहा कि अभी गायें स्वेच्छा से केवल समाज हित में ये कार्य कर रही हैं। उनकी इसी सेवा के मद्देनजर अब उन्हें आधिकारिक तौर पर नियुक्त करने का प्रस्ताव मंत्रालय ने दिया है। गौरक्षकों की हरी झंडी मिलने के बाद इस पर अमल किया जाएगा।

PATRIOTS AND NATIONALISTS  !

The reflex invocation of the outdated law of sedition in spite of the Supreme Court’s clear pronouncement that it has application only if a person ‘incites people to violence against the government established by law, or with the intention of creating public disorder’ is now plain ludicrous. If Kannada actor Divya Spandana, aka Ramya, can be accused of sedition for saying that Pakistan is not hell, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who must have made a record of sorts for the number of times he has embraced Nawaz Sharif, should have been placed in the dock long ago.

Secondly, nationalism cannot become a reason to cynically deflect attention from matters of concern to citizens. To run with the tricolour away from legitimate issues relating to failures in governance, in the hope that this act of ultra-nationalism will silence critics, is an expedient attempt to overarch ineptitude, inequity and mal-governance.

You cannot push Dalit protests aside by saying ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. Nor can you cover up the fact that farmers are in deep distress by shouting ‘Vande Mataram’. If your handling of students and universities is ham-handed, you cannot take the law in your own hands to beat up protesters in the name of the ‘motherland’. It is ironical, indeed, that this new ritualism around the tricolour is being pushed by BJP which draws its inspiration from RSS, which did not believe in the tiranga and preferred the bhagua dhwaj instead.

DALIT AWAKENING !
When Dalits in prosperous states start agitating against occupations such as clearing garbage and tanning, India’s mask of social harmony starts to slip. Dalits facing physical violence are speaking up, as with a young Dalit boy attacked recently in Bhavra village, 40 km from Ahmedabad, because his family had decided to boycott the work of lifting dead carcasses. They are increasingly asking for basic rights — the right to land, the right to public goods and spaces like water and temples, and the right to social acceptance. Other Dalits in Saharanpur’s Usand village in Uttar Pradesh have taken to sleeping in the forest, given the concerns about physical safety. Municipal corporations around India are suddenly starting to run out of willing Dalit workers to sweep the floors and remove carcasses. Social justice, an age-old topic, is the new third rail.

# प्रत्येक भारतीय नागरिक के खाते में 15-15 लाख जमा होने के बाद, क्या मोदी जी की कृपा से देश गरीबी मुक्त हो गया है?

A SEAMLESS ASSIMILATION NOT POSSIBLE !
The RSS, always led by upper caste functionaries, relies on a model of Hindu assimilation that the late sociologist M.N. Srinivas would have called “sanskritisation” of lower castes. But millions of Dalits can’t join a Hindu unity platform that ignores or gravely undervalues the truly shabby treatment they have historically received from castes ranked higher on the traditional hierarchy. For them, an explicit recognition of their suffering has to be the starting point of their inclusion. 

UNREALISTIC DIPLOMACY !
A habitually wayward defence minister makes a bizarre and outlandish  statement demonising Pakistan as "hell".If Pakistan was such a disagreeable, demonised place, why has the Raksha Mantri not persuaded his own government to do the very minimum: break off diplomatic relations with Islamabad; or, at least, recall our High Commissioner?

RSS FUMES OVER HISTORIAN ROMILA THAPAR'S NEW BOOK ON NATIONALISM !

New Delhi: Historian Romila Thapar is under attack yet again by the big brother of the Sangh Parivar — RSS. This time the RSS is breathing fire on her latest book — On Nationalism.

In her new book, Ms Thapar has stated that nationalism cannot be reduced merely to waving flags and shouting slogans and penalising people for not shouting slogans like Bharat Mata ki Jai.

Seething over her observations, the RSS mouthpiece, Organiser, which described Ms Thapar as “queen bee of highbrow intellectualism of divisive Left,” targeted her saying, “Thapar is far from surprise to those who understand the phoney communist character of her intellectual politics.”

Targeting the latest brand of nationalism, Ms Thapar said, “Sloganeering or flag waving smack of a lack of confidence among those making the demand for slogans.”

Of course this has gone against the nationalist spirit of the Sangh. The mouthpiece said, “This time, she has produced another stinky logic of provincialising the otherwise wide-ranging cultural nationalism or Hindutva.”

Hitting out at Ms Thapar, the Organiser wrote in its cover story — Nation for Naysayers — “In the post-Independence era, historians like Thapar were nurtured by the Congress and were established as intellectuals only to ensure that they echo the political programme of this power mongering party through their divisive theories and intellectual activism so that the most legitimate cultural interests of the Hindu society gets nullified from general cognizance."

Ms Thapar in her book which is a compilation of essays by Thapar, lawyer A.G. Noorani and cultural commentator Sadanand Menon, has said, “In India we distinguish between secular anti-colonial nationalism that was the mainstay of the national freedom movement and the other movements that called themselves nationalism but were doubtful as such and were correctly religious or communal nationalism that drew their identity from individual religions, such as Muslims, Hindu and Sikh nationalisms.”

Rio has revealed much else that is wrong with our sport: Lack of jerseys forcing the hockey team to miss the coveted march past; Sports Minister Vijay Goel carrying with him the annoying VIP culture and being put in place for disregarding the rules; Abhay Chautala landing at Rio without the court/CBI permission; Haryana minister Anil Vij leading a delegation to Rio on the pretext of cheering Haryana sportspersons but forgetting to buy tickets for their matches; and a radiologist being made the Indian contingent’s chief medical officer just because he is the son of a vice-president of the Indian Olympic Association. We all know what should not happen, what is wrong and what needs to be done; but we just don’t do it.

MECHANICAL RITUALISM IN HINDUISM !
So for as formalism or mechanical ritualism among Hindus is concerned,there is probably none in this wide world to beat them.Most Hindus go through the motions of various religious ceremonies,spread over hours or in some cases for many days,without having the ghost of an idea of what is being done and orchestrated by that class of abominable social parasites, known as priests and dharam gurus.A 'revered' priest or guru asks you to dip a finger in the water with your 'sacred thread' either in right arm or left arm.You have to wait till he directs you where to place the drop so collected on finger,usually on your own article/articles being donated to him,some on on your own forehead and some times on his own brow.You obey his directions to adopt different postures while performing rituals.So for as the reciting of the mantra's is concerned,yajmaan obediently recites all such mantra's parrot like with closed mind ,without having any idea about the content and context of recited verses. Said Mantra's are usually recited in Sanskrit with great gusto ,but following at best only a word or two [usually one of the myriad synonyms of supposed god] out of the whole prayer.

अंधविश्वास कैसेकैसे

गरुड़ पुराण में कहा गया है कि पापियों के प्राण गुदा जैसी नीचे की जननेंद्रियों से और पुण्य करने वाले व्यक्तियों के प्राण ऊपर के अंगों से निकलते हैं जबकि वास्तविकता यह है कि मनुष्य की मौत श्वसन तंत्र फेल हो जाने से ही होती है.

गरुड़ पुराण के प्रथम अध्याय के अनुसार, मृत्यु के बाद मनुष्य का कद एक अंगूठे के आकार जितना रह जाता है और उस को यमलोक की यात्रा करवाने के लिए निकले दूत भयानक होते हैं. पुस्तक के प्रथम अध्याय में कहा गया है कि यमदूत अंगूठे के आकार के मृत व्यक्ति को घसीटते हैं, जहरीले सांपों से डसवाते हैं, तेज कांटों से बेधते हैं, शेर व बाघ जैसे हिंसक जानवरों के सामने आहार के रूप में परोसते हैं. आग में जलाते हैं, कुत्तों से कटवाते व बिच्छुओं से डसवाते हैं.

यहां प्रश्न उठता है कि इतनी यातनाएं देने के बाद भी अंगूठे के आकार का मनुष्य जीवित कैसे रह सकता है? और क्या विशालकाय यमदूतों को अंगूठे के आकार के व्यक्ति को घसीटने की जरूरत पड़ सकती है?

सजाएं यहीं समाप्त नहीं होतीं. इतने छोटे आकार के व्यक्ति को छुरी की धार पर चलाया जाता है. अंधेरे कुओं में फेंका जाता है. जोंकोंभरे कीचड़ में फेंक कर जोंकों से कटवाया जाता है. उसे आग में गिराया जाता है. तपती रेत पर चलाया जाता है. उस पर आग, पत्थरों, हथियारों, गरम पानी व खून की वर्षा भी की जाती है. अंगूठे के आकार के व्यक्ति को वैतरणी नदी जिस का किनारा हड्डियों से जोड़ा गया है व जिस में रक्त, मांस व मवाद का कीचड़ भरा है, में डुबोया जाता है.

उस के बाद यमदूत उसे समयसमय पर भारी मुगदरों से भी पीटते हैं. मृतक की नाक व कानों में छेद कर के उसे घसीटते हैं और शरीर पर लोहे का भार लाद कर भी चलवाते हैं. इस तरह की कई कथित यातनाएं मृतक को दी जाती हैं. लेकिन आश्चर्यजनक रूप से वह मरता नहीं. इस वैज्ञानिक युग में इस तरह की बातें अविश्वसनीय व हास्यास्पद नहीं हैं तो और क्या हैं?

गरुड़ पुराण में कई बातें परस्पर मेल नहीं खातीं. मसलन, प्रथम अध्याय के 37वें श्लोक में कहा गया है कि यमलोक तक के मार्ग में कहीं वृक्षों की छाया व विश्राम का स्थल नहीं है जबकि इसी अध्याय के 44वें श्लोक में मृतक को यमदूतों सहित एक वट वृक्ष के नीचे विश्राम करने की बात कही गई है.

दूसरे अध्याय के 77वें श्लोक में कहा गया है कि शौतादय नाम के कथित नगर में हिमालय से 100 गुणा अधिक सर्दी पड़ती है. जब हिमालय, जहां का तापमान शून्य से नीचे रहता है, में ही कोई मानव बस्ती नहीं है तो वहां से 100 गुणा अधिक सर्दी वाली जगह पर एक नगर कैसे बस सकता है? शून्य से नीचे के तापमान में खून जमना आरंभ हो जाता है. जहां शून्य से नीचे 100 डिगरी या उस से अधिक ठंडा तापमान होगा वहां से तो यमदूत भी जीवित नहीं गुजर सकते.

गरुड़ पुराण के चौथे अध्याय में तीर्थों, ग्रंथों व पुराणों पर विश्वास न करने वाले, नास्तिक व दान न देने वाले व्यक्तियों को पापी कहा गया है. मृत्यु के बाद उन को नरक भुगतना पड़ता है.

चौथे अध्याय के अनुसार, गुड़, चीनी, शहद, मिठाई, घी, दूध, नमक व चमड़ा बेचना पाप है. 5वें अध्याय के मुताबिक गर्भ नष्ट करने वाला डाक्टर म्लेच्छ जाति में जन्म लेता है तथा सदा रोगों से पीडि़त रहता है. इसी अध्याय के 5वें श्लोक के अनुसार, जो व्यक्ति अकेला ही किसी स्वादिष्ठ वस्तु को खाता है उसे गलगंड रोग हो जाता है. श्राद्ध में अपवित्र अन्न दान में देने वाले को कुष्ठ रोग हो जाता है. पुस्तकें चुराने वाला जन्म से ही अंधा व पानी चुराने वाला पपीहे के रूप में जन्म लेता है. क्या इन बातों पर विश्वास किया जा सकता है?

दाल को दाल ही रहने दो  !
पुराने जमाने में मुर्गे का बड़ा महत्व हुआ करता था. किसी ऊंचे टीले पर चढ़कर रात भर वह सूरज के निकलने की टोह लिया करता था. जैसे ही उसे आभास होता कि बस अब उजाला होने को है, वह तुरंत जोरदार बांग लगा देता ताकि सब जाग जाएँ. जो चौकीदार के ‘जागते रहो’ की चेतावनी के कारण जागे हुए ही होते थे वे भी नीम का दातून लिए दिशा मैदान की ओर कूच कर जाया करते थे. चोर आदि भी अपना चौर्यकर्म निपटाकर अपने-अपने घर चले जाया करते थे. वे भी गरीब आदमी की तरह सुबह दाल-रोटी खाते और दिन भर के लिए चादर तान कर सो जाते ताकि अगली रात को फिर काम पर निकला जा सके. अब यह आप पूछ सकते हैं कि चोर जैसे लोग भी दाल रोटी ही क्यों खाते थे उन दिनों, वे चाहते तो अपने नियमित चौर्य कर्म के अंतर्गत मुर्गी का इंतजाम तो बड़ी आसानी से कर सकते थे. सच तो यह है कि उन दिनों गरीब आदमी के भी कुछ उसूल होते थे. पेट की खातिर वह चोरी जरूर करता था लेकिन ‘मुर्गी चोर’ कहलाने में अपना अपमान समझता था. वैसे भी गरीब आदमी की औकात दाल बराबर ही हुआ करती थी. मुर्गी कहाँ सबके नसीब में होती है जनाब. गरीब तो दाल-रोटी ही खाकर तृप्ति की ऊंची डकार लेकर ऐलान कर दिया करता था कि हुजूर हमारा पेट भर गया है.
बहरहाल, मामला कुछ यों है कि बाजार में मुर्गी और दाल का भाव एक हो गया तो ‘घर की मुर्गी दाल बराबर’ वाले मुहावरे को सच साबित करने की कुचेष्टा की जा रही है. नादान लोग समझ ही नहीं पा रहे कि इसमें सरकार का कोई दोष नहीं है. लाख समझाया जा रहा है उन्हें कि खराब मौसम के कारण दालों का उत्पादन प्रभावित हुआ है इसलिए वह महंगी हो गयी है. बियर विथ अस. मगर लोग हैं कि मानते नहीं, बस दाल का रोना लेकर बैठ गए हैं.
कहाँ दाल और कहाँ मुर्गी? कोई तालमेल ही नहीं दिखता. अरे भाई एक किलो की मुर्गी तो बस एक बार ही पकाई जा सकती है मगर दाल तो कई दिनों तक चलती है. घर में ज्यादा लोग हों तो ‘दे दाल में पानी..!’ वैसे भी विशेषज्ञ कहते हैं शरीर के लिए पानी बहुत जरूरी होता है. जितना ज्यादा पानी पीयेंगे उतना स्वस्थ रहेंगे.
तो भैया, ये दाल और मुर्गी की बेमतलब की तुलना करना छोड़ो. मुर्गी को मुर्गी ही रहने दो और दाल को दाल की तरह ही पकाओ-खाओ, उसे मुर्गी बनाने से गरीब आदमी का कोई भला नहीं होने वाला. हमारा तो बस इतना ही कहना है..आगे आपकी मरजी.

रिमोट कंट्रोल का आत्मकथ्य

मैं रिमोट कंट्रोल। आप सब मुझसे परिचित होंगे ही। लेकिन आप आम लोगों के लिए मैं ठहरा टीवी का रिमोट कंट्रोल – बस बटन दबाते जाओ और इधर से उधर चैनल फेरते जाओ। लेकिन मैं टीवी इत्यादि जैसी छोटी चीजों से कहीं ऊपर हूं। भारतीय राजनीति को गहराई से जानने वाले लोग मेरा महत्व समझते है। वे जानते हैं कि मेरा महात्म्य कहीं ज्यादा है। छोटा मुंह बड़ी बात, लेकिन सच कहूं, अगर मैं न रहूं तो आप जिस लोकतंत्र का दंभ भरते हैं ना, वह एक कदम भी आगे न बढ़ पाए। देश की कोई भी पार्टी हो, वह रिमोट कंट्रोल के बगैर चल ही नहीं सकती। देश की सबसे पुरानी पार्टी का कंट्रोल एक परिवार के पास है और वह भी सालों से। दूसरी प्रमुख पार्टी का कंट्रोल भी एक अन्य परिवार करता है। यह अलग बात है कि वह मानता नहीं है। किसी भी राज्य में नजर दौड़ा लीजिए। पता चल जाएगा कि वहां केवल और केवल मेरा ही सिक्का चलता है। रिमोट हर जगह है-कही मैं किसी परिवार के हाथ में हूं तो कहीं किसी दबंग राजनेता के हाथ में। ज्यादा पहले की बात न करें। महाराष्ट्र में मुझे जमकर आदर मिला। एक कार्टून बनाने वाला बंदा जितनी मजबूती से हाथ में कूची थामे रहता था, उससे भी नजाकत से उसने रिमोट कंट्रोल को आॅपरेट किया। फिर बिहार में जब एक महिला ने राज्य की कमान संभाली तो उस समय भी मुझे बड़ा सम्मान मिला था। यह मैं नहीं कह रहा हूं। इतिहास में दर्ज हैं सब बातें।
और पिछले दस साल के बारे में तो मैं क्या बताऊ! सोचकर ही खुशी से आंखों में आंसू आ जाते हैं। भारतीय राजनीति में यह मेरा स्वर्णिम काल रहा है। इतना असरदार इससे पहले मैं कभी नहीं रहा। मुझे बताते हुए गर्व महसूस हो रहा है कि यह मैं ही था जिसके जरिए पूरा देश कंट्रोल होता रहा। कोई भी काम मेरे बगैर संभव ही नहीं था। अब दिल्ली में नई सरकार आई है। पता नहीं मेरा क्या होगा! माना पार्टियों में मुझे महत्व मिलता रहेगा, लेकिन जो बात सत्ता में है, वह और कहां।
पुनश्च – इस बीच मेरे लिए एक राहत की खबर आई है। खबर है कि बिहार में सीएम बदल गया है। मुझे उम्मीद है कि नई दिल्ली की भरपाई पटना से हो जाएगी।

व्यंग्य;

आओ पकाएं हरा-भरा सांसद !

हमारा कोई भी पर्व पकवानों के बिना अधूरा है। दिवाली पर गुजिया और ईद पर सैवइयां। तो लोकतंत्र में चुनाव के इस महापर्व के मौके पर पेश है एक विशेष डिश: हरा-भरा सांसद। राजनीतिक दल इस तरह से डिश तैयार करके अपने मतदाताओं का दिल खुश कर सकते हैं।

सामग्री: एक भरा-पूरा नेता। मालदार होगा तो अच्छा रहेगा। ब्लैक मनी जिसका कोई हिसाब-किताब न हो। फर्जी सोशल अकाउंट्स। शोरबे के लिए देसी दारू। खटास के लिए गालियां। सजावट के लिए देसी कट्टे-बंदूकें या ऐसी कोई भी सामग्री। लोकलुभावन वादे। जातिगत जुगाड़ नेता की जाति अनुसार।
विधि: सबसे पहले एक अच्छे से ऐसे नेता का चयन करें जो जीत सकता हो। उसके पास भरपूर पैसा होे, क्षेत्र में जातिगत प्रभाव हो और साथ ही डराने-धमकाने की ताकत भी। उस पर थोड़े-बहुत दाग होंगे तो उससे स्वाद और बढ़ जाएगा। उसे सबसे पहले अच्छे से छील लें, यानी पार्टी फंड के नाम पर जितना हो सके, पैसा कबाड़ लें। अब एक अलग बाॅउल में ब्लैक मनी व देसी दारू को आपस में मिलाकर शोरबा तैयार करें। शोरबे के कालेपन को मिटाने के लिए सोशल वेबसाइट‌्स का तड़का मिला दें। इससे कालापन थोड़ा कम हो जाएगा। थोड़ा-सा रहेगा तो कोई दिक्कत नहीं। स्वाद के शौकीनों को थोड़ा कालापन अच्छा लगता है। अब एक फ्राइंग पैन लें। उसमें नेता को रखें और उस पर ब्लैकमनी-देसी दारू का पहले से तैयार शोरबा डाल दें। इतना डालें कि नेता उससे सराबोर हो जाए। अब इस मिश्रण को धर्म की आंच में धीरे-धीरे पकने दें। नेता जितना लिजलिजा होगा, वह उतना ही स्वादिष्ट होगा। जब नेता अच्छी तरह पक जाए तो उसे फिर आंच से उतार लें। धीरे-धीरे ठंडा होने दें ताकि निर्वाचन आयोग को चटका न लगे लेकिन हलका-हलका गरम रहेगा तो स्वाद बना रहेगा। फिर थोड़ी गालियों व अपशब्दों की खटास डालें, और साथ में विरोधी दलों से पाला बदलकर आई थोड़ी शक्कर भी मिला दे। खट-मिट स्वाद आएगा। अब इसे निकालकर तश्तरी में रखें, उसके ऊपर थोड़े-से लोकलुभावन वादे बुरकें। आपकी यह डिश लगभग तैयार है। लेकिन ध्यान रखें, अच्छी डिश के साथ-साथ उसकी सजावट भी जरूरी है। इसके लिए देसी कट्टों, बंदूकों और चाकुओं की सजावट करना न भूलें। इससे अगर स्वाद में थोड़ी-बहुत कमी भी होगी तो उसकी भरपाई हो जाएगी। लीजिए हरा-भरा सांसद तैयार।

 सलमान ने नहीं मारा था काला हिरण, तो फिर कैसे हुई थी मौत? जानिए सच्ची दास्तां…

यमलोक से विशेष रिपोर्ट। हिरण शिकार मामले में सलमान खान बरी हो गए हैं। ऐसे में यह सवाल उठना लाजिमी है कि जब हिरण को सलमान ने नहीं मारा तो उसकी माैत कैसे हुई। इस संबंध में सच जानने के लिए यमलोक में हमारे विशेष संवाददाता ने सीधे हिरण से ही बात की है। ऐसा पहली बार है जब किसी मीडिया में पीड़ित हिरण ने अपनी मौत के बारे में स्वयं खुलासा किया है। आगे जानिए खुद हिरण के शब्दों में उसकी मौत की दास्तां…

“बात 1998 की है। उस समय भवाद गांव के पास सल्लू भाई की एक मूवी की शूटिंग चल रही थी। मैं सल्लू भाई का शुरू से ही फैन रहा हूं। उनकी फिल्में देख-देखकर ही आगे बढ़ा हूं। मैं भी सल्लू भाई जैसा बड़ा एक्टर बनना चाहता था। जब पता चला कि भाई हमारे जंगल में शूटिंग करने आए हैं तो भला ऐसा कैसे हो सकता था कि मैं उनसे न मिलूं। मैं उनसे मिला। उन्होंने भी बड़े प्यार से गले लगाया। मैंने हीरो बनने की इच्छा बताई तो वे बाेले- मुंबई आ जा बेटा, वहां तूझे हीरो बना दूंगा। बस, इसके बाद मैं मुंबई चला गया।”

हिरण ने आगे बताया, “मुंबई में जहां-जहां सल्लू भाई जाते, मैं उनकी कार के पीछे-पीछे जाता। मेरे सपने सच होने ही वाले थे कि फिर 28 सितंबर 2002 की काली रात आ गई। इसी रात को भाई (सल्लू) की एक कार हादसे का शिकार हो गई। मैं भी उस कार के पीछे-पीछे था। मैं हादसे वाले स्थान पर खड़ा होकर भाई को तलाश रहा था। इतनी देर में कार को हटाने वाली क्रेन मुझ पर गिर गई। इसके बाद मेरी आंख खुली तो मैं सीधे यहीं यमलोक में था।”

इमोशनल हिरण ने रुंधे हुए गले से कहा, “भाई को इस मामले में जबरन फंसाया गया था। भगवान का लाख-लाख शुक्र है कि वे बरी हो गए। मैं इतने सालों से आत्मग्लानि की जिंदगी जी रहा था। मुझे बार-बार इसी बात का अफसोस होता था कि भाई को मेरे कारण कितनी दिक्कतें हो रही हैं। लेकिन अब कोर्ट के फैसले के बाद मैं भी आराम से जी सकूंगा।”

GENDER PREJUDICE AND DENIGRATION OF WOMEN UNDER RELIGION !
HINDUISM:-

They were regarded as the "torch lighting the way to hell."They were considered to be a bad influence on men,a positive hind
rance in the meaningful development of their personality. Kabir asked men to shun the company of women,saying-"Kabira tin ki kya ghat jo nit nari kay sang".She was looked down upon as a 'potential temptress'.Tulsidas,author of Ramcharitmanas,placed women at par with animal,by saying-"dhol,ganwar,sudr,pasu,
nari-sakal tadana kay adhikari."Yoghi Gorakh Nath has described women as "baghni" a she wolf who robbed men of their youthful vigor. Both Krishna and Shankracharya have described women as "paap yoniya"[product of sin and immorality] and "narak dwar"[door to hell] respectively.
Basically, out present attitude towards women streams from our religious scriptures which refer to women as contempt. Our oldest book are the 'Vedas' which contain highly objectionable and condemn-able passages concerning women. Taking cue from the 'Vedas' authors of subsequent religious scriptures referred to women in more contemptuous form. 'Sati pratha' (custom of burning the widow with the body of her husband), 'Dasi Pratha' (keeping the slave girls), 'Niyog Pratha' (ancient Aryan custom of childless widow or women having sexual intercourse with a man other than husband to beget child), were among cruel customs responsible for the plight of the women.

Naturally, seeking shelter under such religious sanctions, unscrupulous women disgraced women to the maximum possible extent and made them means of satisfying their lust. No one wanted a daughter. As a result; female infant came to be considered unwanted. No one wanted a daughter. Everyone was interested in having a son. The birth of the son was celebrated, but the birth of the daughter plunged family into gloom. This attitude still persists, even though certain other customs have undergone changes.
ISLAM :-
"It is not some sundry alim but Al-Ghazzali himself,who tells us that "merit has one thousand components,only one of which is attributable to women,while nine hundred and ninety nine are attributable to men."It is the view not of some sundry alim but of this ,the most influential of Islam's theologians and philosophers that for eve's disobedience and the moral depravity of women-kind Allah has punished women in 18 different ways,which include Menstruation,Pregnancy,The pain of childbirth,Separation from her parents and marriage to a stranger,the liability to be divorced and her inability to divorce,the fact that it is lawful for a men to marry four wives while she has to be content with one husband,that her testimony counts for just one half of the testimony of a man,that her share in property be half that of her brother and so on."

नई दिल्ली/पुणे। केंद्र सरकार ने मौसम संबंधी भविष्यवाणियों को और भी सटीक बनाने के लिए भारतीय मौसम विभाग में ज्योतिषाचार्यों की नियुक्ति करने और पैरट एस्ट्राेलॉजी को बढ़ावा देने का फैसला किया है।
इससे मौसम का अनुमान लगाने के लिए न तो नए उपग्रह छोड़ने पड़ेंगे और न ही डॉप्लर राडार जैसी तकनीकों पर भारी-भरकम खर्च करना पड़ेगा। इसका एक फायदा यह भी होगा कि मौसम संबंधी भविष्यवाणियां गलत होने पर भी कोई मौसम विभाग पर अंगुली नहीं उठा सकेगा। वैसे मौसम विभाग जो भविष्यवाणियां कर रहा है, वह उतनी ही सच हो रही हैं, जितनी कि ज्योतिषियों द्वारा की गई भविष्यवाणियां।

MYTHOLOGICAL MYTHS ABOUT EARTHQUAKES !
HINDUISM :-
According to a Hindu myth, the earth is held by four elephants who in turn stand on the back of a turtle. This turtle is further balanced on the head of a cobra. During the entire balancing act, if any one of the animals, move, understandably the earth would shake, leading to earthquakes! This myth has different versions, with the number of elephants varying, and sometimes the order of animals varying, but the logic is the same, and i.e. dis-balance.
ISLAM :-
"Allah Most High hath created veins in the earth and hath given them into the hands of angles.Wherever the burden of sins increases and Allah Most High wants to scourge the people there,he orders the angles and the angel of that place pulls the vein [ie,the vein of that region] and the earth trembles and there occurs the earthquake [Verily,Allah knoweth best]".

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतूर्भूर्माते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि।।47।।

The teaching of karmyoga consists of two parts:first you have to do your work without an eye or desire for the fruit thereof and secondly,the fruit of your action,if and when obtained,is to be discarded or surrendered or thrown away.In no case should it be accepted.You have to renounce it.To ordinary person like me,this appears a strange,startling and un-intelligible doctrine.Followers are told that it is their obligation [right to work] but to the fruit thereof,they never have a right.I think that a man's right to the fruit of his labor is fundamental and unquestionable.A desire to achieve certain results is the mother of progress.Desirelessness is the mother of stagnation.In the absence of desire,we would still have been jumping from tree to tree without shedding our tails and still walking on all fours.
Again what does renunciation of the fruits of action mean?What is the process by which followers have to surrender the fruits of action to 'god'?Are they supposed to keep the pay packet or the currency notes on the alter of a temple or at the feet of an idol and think no more about it?
All inventors,research workers,explorers work with motive or objective and are interested in the results.Nothing was ever achieved by object less endeavor.
