M.F.HUSSAIN,BEING HOUNDED EVEN AFTER DEATH !
Inspired and encouraged by recent political changes, the obscurantists and fundamentalists ,are busy even today to hound M.F.Hussain,one of India's greatest painters, who was compelled to spend his last few years in exile before death. As per media reports,a Hussain painting displayed in a Mumbai five star hotel, had to be withdrawn by Delhi Art Gallery, which had organized the exhibition.Such is the cultural terrorist impact today that ,'action' was undertaken by DAG simply after one isolated guest complained that he was 'offended' by the work which showed Ganesha seated on his mothers lap.
Fear of violence and subsequent legal action under archaic laws [66 A and other related laws ]for hurting 'sensitiveness/sentiments'has become so real and precipitated fear psychosis, quite contrary to constitutional guarantees for fundamental rights, which include freedom of expression.
# Tailpiece : Bollywood star Salman Khan has been booked by Yavatmal police for a fashion show by his NGO,where a model wore a t-shirt inscribed with a word in Arabic. This allegedly 'hurt' Muslim sentiments !
Are we heading for a theocratic state ?
